The year 2006 saw the creation of a new regional federation of professional organisations of the wines of the

Languedoc-Roussillon region, called Inter Sud de France, assembling the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Languedoc (CIVL - The joint trade Council of the wines of Languedoc), the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Roussillon (CIVR - The joint trade Council of the wines of Roussillon), Inter-Oc – Oc regional wines and the regional delegation of the ANIVIT.  Inter Sud de France was the unifying organisation needed by the first wine producing country in the world to create the regional umbrella brand, Sud de France, for readability and effectiveness and with the support of the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
